Hello all! My name is Maya Carroll and I love teaching. Most recently, I taught "Creative Writing" and "Reading with a Purpose" at DVC's College for Kids. I also have experience teaching painting, theatre, and dance. I recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Jose State University with a major in Animation/Illustration and a Minor in Theatre Arts. For my senior thesis I worked as the Lead Story Artist for the 2022 short film entitled “Found You.” I also had the opportunity to work on character modeling and CG lighting in Maya, and work on the Artbook Design and Production team as a writer and designer. I pride myself on being able to work with students of all backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles. As someone who has succeeded in school despite struggling with learning disabilities, I understand many techniques to make learning easier. I realize how challenging school can be, and am here to help you through it!
