Hello! My name is Kaylan So, and I am a sophomore at UCLA, studying political science and data science engineering. I graduated from Dougherty Valley in 2022 with highest honors (4.72 GPA) and prestigious awards such as National Merit Scholarship Finalist status, AP Scholar with Distinction, and the President’s Volunteer Service Award 3x. Additionally, I scored a 1580 on the SAT, 36 on the ACT, and mostly 5s in 10+ AP exams. I’ve had the privilege of receiving admissions to universities like Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, UC Berkeley, and many more. I’ve been tutoring my peers and younger students for 6 years. What sets me apart from other student tutors is that I personally tailor lesson plans to best suit my students’ needs and goals, while emphasizing my values of establishing a solid foundation in material before studying ahead. I am offering tutoring for elementary, middle, and high school students in math, English, science, and AP subjects. Additionally, I am now providing college counseling/advising help for incoming seniors. I know from personal experience that applying to colleges can be confusing, stressful, and daunting. To ensure transparency about college application process for my clients, I’d be more than happy to provide services such as brainstorming/editing essays, organizing the main application, etc. It’s not too late to start!
