Hello, my name is Jared! I am currently an upcoming senior at San Diego State University studying Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Throughout high school and in college I have always pushed myself beyond what was expected. It wasn't until I had help from my peers and teachers that I could be able to accomplish this. Now that I am more experienced where I have learned strategies and techniques that apply to school, I want to give back to those who need additional help and assist in any way possible to ultimately help make them the best versions of themselves. During high school and in college, I was a part of the Honors program and other various programs where I was constantly challenged to problem solve, adapt, and collaborate. A senior in college, I have understood that in school there are many different obstacles that could contribute to feelings of frustration and confusion. With my experience in psychology, communication, and mentoring, I can use skills such as patience, perseverance, and empathy that I've acquired, to assist in any way. I have experience in coaching youth basketball from K-8 and working with children ages ranging from 5-15 in various activities ranging from arts and crafts to collaborative story-telling. I have also have had the opportunity to mentor and coach students at my university in communication and leadership for recruiting. I have been known by many to be a very charismatic, positive, and helpful individual where I aim to better myself and those around me everyday. It would be a pleasure to share what I have learned and tutor you in subjects of english, history, art, science, or math!
