My name is Hao Tran. I am currently a rising junior at UC Santa Cruz studying Computer Science. I am a computer science student with a strong background in the humanities. In high school, I was involved in Academic Decathlon which taught me how to study a broad range of subjects. I ended my run with over 15 medals and awards including the third-highest score at the California State Championship. I am well-suited to developing study plans and communicating effective study techniques for any type of academic need. I can effectively teach to anyone's learning style. I have found my time learning the humanities enjoyable but now I am more interested in maths and technology. In the future, I hope to work for a technology firm as a software engineer to make applications. My current interests are in coding and spending time outdoors. I was looking for a tutor who could help me on the Air Force ASVAB (Military Aptitude test) and got matched up with Hao. The difficulty with most ASVAB tutors is its such a broad coverage of subjects, it can be hard to pin down what to study and focus on. That hasn't been the case with Hao. He's made that process incredibly easy for me and has made it easy to find what it is exactly I need to work on in order to get the score I need to get the job/career i want. His knowledge of the subjects and the willingness to teach, paired with his preparedness for each session and personable personality has made the tutoring sessions super engaging and enjoyable. He's consistently followed up with extra curricular homework for me to study and has sent me my notes after every session.
